Tariff is fixed by Royal Government of Bhutan for all nationals except for Indian, Bangladesh and Maldives nationals. The tariff includes all accommodations in 3 star hotels & resorts, all meals (B/L/D), english speaking guide, all transportation, Airport pickup & drop.
The tariff varies in Peak & Off Season. They are as follows:
Peak Season (March, April, May, September, October, November): USD 250 per person per night
Off Season (December, January, February, June, July, August): USD 200 per person per night
Tourist Visa to Bhutan can only be processed by licensed Bhutanese tour operator upon deposit of the entire tour amount. Traveller or any foreign travel agent can deposit the tour amount. We will process the Visa after receiving the money and provide you the copy which you will have to furnish in the airport.
How it works: Once the entire tour payment has been deposited in the account, only then we will be able to process visa. All we need for the visa is a copy of your passport. After Visa has been granted, we are given a visa approval letter with the details of the individual visiting Bhutan which we will give you a copy. All tourists can fly to Bhutan using the visa approval letter. The actual visa is stamped in the passport on arrival in Bhutan. There is no visa restriction to any nationality and there is no limit on your duration of stay as long as you pay the daily tourist tariff fixed by the Royal Government of Bhutan.
Visa Fee: USD 40 (One time per person)
While in Bhutan it is important to know the following:
1. Smoking in public is prohibited.
2. Littering is prohibited. You will be fined by City Corporation
3. While entering dzongs & monasteries the following dress code needs to be maintained
* Woman: Formal dress with long sleeves
* Man: Formal dress
4. Photography inside dzongs & monasteries is prohibited
5. Entry to wild life sanctuaries needs prior permission
6. Strolling in the night is not advised. Please arrange an escort with your tour operator
7. Visit to karaoke, night clubs are at your expenses
You can travel to Bhutan by Air through the following airports: Bangkok, Singapore, Kathmandu, Delhi, Kolkatta, Mumbai, Burma. The only international airport is located in Paro at 7,300 feet above sea level. Bhutan has two airlines operating: Druk Air and Bhutan Airlines. Tickets are scarce during peak season so it is advisable to plan your trip well in advance for ticket availability
You can enter into Bhutan from any of the three entry points: Samdrup Jongkhar, Gelephu and Phuentsholing. You will have to Exit from India (Jaigoan immigration office is just 5 minutes walk from Bhutan Gate and Entry into Bhutan (office just near the gate). Phuentsholing is a convenient as Baghdogra aiport is nearest from here. Even the major railway stations like NJP or New Alipurduar is nearest from here. You can come in your own vehicle with proper vehicle documents and driving license.
You will be endorsed by the immigration officers before you are issued with a permit. Your physical attendance is mandatory. You may have to carry your passport (also some passport photographs) or voter’s registration card. If you plan to travel by road, the endorsement is done at the entry points in Phuentsholing, Samdrup Jongkhar and Gelephu. If by flight, you will enter from the Paro International Airport.
